Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, was recently recognized as the Most Outstanding Humanitarian Pastor of the Year at the 20th Gawad Amerika Awards held last November 20th, 2021, in Hollywood, California, USA.
Pastor Apollo’s international media network, Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) USA, also received the Most Outstanding Filipino-American Documentary News Media of the Year award.
Attended by successful entrepreneurs, entertainers, philanthropists, media influencers, leaders, and achievers in their chosen fields, the Annual Gawad Amerika Awards aims to pay tribute to our countrymen who have exhibited exemplary and inspiring work in various professions and industries — management, leadership, business, and entertainment, to name a few.
The Gawad Amerika Foundation President and Founder, Mr. Charles Simbulan, said that the foundation’s trustees, directors, and awards panel unanimously selected Pastor Quiboloy to receive the humanitarian award for all the good he has done in the Philippines and abroad, despite the accusations hurled at him left and right.
It was noted that even amid the pandemic, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy never failed to extend help, assistance, and support to struggling Filipinos, especially those living in remote, rural areas in the country devastated by calamities and disasters. His aid even reached beyond the Philippine borders towards foreign countries whose people needed help during the crisis.
Pastor Quiboloy has helped various organizations and shelters, including children and residents of Appalachia, a cultural region in the United States facing the challenges of poverty.
The humanitarian initiatives that Pastor Quiboloy implemented through his institutions (the SMNI Foundation, Sonshine Media Network International, Sonshine Philippines Movement, and Jose Maria College) have been commended for their organized, rapid, and relentless assistance provided to the victims of typhoons, earthquakes, and other calamities in recent months and years.
This is the third award that Pastor Quiboloy received from the Gawad Amerika Foundation for his unique leadership and philosophy.
Mr. Simbulan strongly expressed his support towards Pastor Quiboloy, saying that he believes that Pastor Apollo is the Son of God and that he is among the millions of people who are praying for the good Pastor.
The Gawad Amerika Panel is composed of publishers, reporters, civic leaders, students, lawyers, doctors, and other professionals. A thorough examination and investigation are conducted before the most deserving awardees are chosen.
