“What they did to Jesus Christ, they are doing to me.”

Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy

History Repeats Itself

[post-date]

About This Post

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has been persecuted endlessly due to the revolutionary spiritual message he is bringing to the world. Like Jesus Christ in his time, he is unpopular among the believers of mainstream religions and denominations.

Yet he remains fearless and grounded knowing that he is not doing it for himself but for those people who are truly seeking salvation.

The challenges he is facing in this modern age can be compared to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Though it is no longer physical… but spiritual.

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is never apologetic about what he preaches. Though the world may denounce him and call him every sort of name for the things that he says, he continues to speak with bold fearlessness the straight, true and unadulterated Word of God that Jesus Christ himself brought to humanity more than 2,000 years ago.

In a recent worship presentation aired LIVE over Sonshine Media Network International TV stations worldwide, he told millions of listeners that history repeats itself.

“What the Jewish leaders and the Romans did to Jesus Christ, the Begotten Son of God in the Jewish setting, my detractors and persecutors are doing to me today,” he said. “As Jesus Christ was whipped and nailed to the cross, likewise are they doing to me as the Appointed Son.”

Once called one of the most vilified persons in the world today by a well-known newspaper columnist, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has been the subject of non-stop verbal abuse on radio and television since the beginning of his ministry 34 years ago. With the advent of social media, invectives and insults have only escalated on a global scale against him and his ministry.

He describes the reason for the wide-spread hatred hurled against him: “Because that is my role. My role today is the role of my Father, our Lord Jesus Christ. As they had done to Him, they will do also to me,” he said.

“How about you?” he asked, addressing his bashers. “What role do you play today? I pity you for the role that you have taken. You have taken the role of those Roman soldiers who beat upon Jesus Christ, who scourged him on the post, who lashed him as he walked and reviled him. That is your role,” he pointed out.

The Ministry of the Son is Now Spiritual

Pastor Apollo, who leads a worldwide ministry of 7 million followers in more than 2,000 cities, demonstrated that the difference today is that everything is now done spiritually, and no longer in a physical sense.

“The whipping and crucifying they are doing to me today is no longer physical, but spiritual. The physical is over and done with. It will not be repeated because the ministry of the Son today is spiritual,” Pastor Apollo explained. “Salvation today is all spiritual.”

He illustrated how every word was spoken are as the nails that pierced our Savior’s hands and feet.

“How are they crucifying me? By hatred, by bitterness, by hurtful and acrid words – all those kill me and nail me to the cross,” he stressed.

He underlined how the Church Age people today call on Jesus Christ as Lord but do not know that He went through death and suffering because of the Words that he preached.

“The religious leaders of his day did not see His good works – that he healed the sick, that he fed multitudes, and that he brought Lazarus back to life. No, they did not see that” Pastor explained. “He committed no crime, but they made him a criminal. They made him be bad, and themselves to be good. But he stood firm even in his suffering and said, ‘Not my will Father but Thy Will be done.”

“It is the same with me today, is it not? All my persecutors make me out to be bad, but themselves to be good,” Pastor pronounced.

“They make me out to be the worst person in the world today even though I do not know how to do evil against my fellowman. But how have I responded?”

“I pray for them. I love them because the Father commands us to love our enemies, to do good to them that hate you, to bless them that curse you, to pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you,” he expounded.

A day earlier, Pastor Apollo sent his own foundations, the Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. and the Sonshine Philippines Movement, to distribute relief and aid to the distressed earthquake victims in the devastated municipality of Tulunan, North Cotabato.

Upon reaching the area, volunteers discovered the place to be a hotbed of KAPA Ministry members. Some few months before, Pastor Apollo had exposed and castigated its leader, self-styled pastor, Joel Apolinario, for using the name of God to deceive people and cover the obvious Ponzi-scheme of his operation.

Members of the said group rose up to defend their so-called leader.

An outpouring of hatred and bashing against Pastor Apollo immediately followed especially after President Rodrigo Duterte himself ordered the group to be shut down.

“You curse my name, you bash me below the belt, but I continue to pray that the Father will bless you, even when calamity has struck you down and destroyed your homes,” Pastor Apollo revealed. “I pray that the Father will forgive you for what you are doing to the Appointed Son, for what you are saying against the Appointed Son.”

“I pleaded to the Father on your behalf,” he revealed. “I said, ‘Father, please, it is enough. Please forgive them. Please stop the earthquakes. The destruction they have received is enough. The punishment they have received is sufficient. Please forgive them and bless them.”

Tulunan and nearby areas were hit by an earthquake swarm of 3 major shocks closely following each other, all measuring 6.0 and higher in the Richter scale. More than seven hundred aftershocks were likewise recorded following the incidents. Pastor Apollo revealed that he will be sending more aid to other devastated areas in the region. He also called upon the ACQ Solomonic Builders, the CJFI and SPM, to help rebuild the ruined school buildings and daycare center in Tulunan.
