Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy aired a special episode of his program, Give Us this Day “A Night of Anointed Songs of Worship”, today, March 18, 2018, featuring the anointed songs of the late Pastor Murrell Ewing.
Ewing songs, such as “Love’s Picture”, “If You Had Known Me Before I Knew Him”, and “Love is Blind” and many more are among Pastor Apollo’s favorite songs. He says of Ewing’s songs: “His timeless songs of eternity touched my soul and that of millions around the world.”
In an episode which he dedicated to the late preacher and soulful singer, Pastor Apollo welcomed his widow, Joan, daughter Lavonna “Vonnie” Ewing Lopez, granddaughter Lindsay, grandson Aaron, Vonnie’s pianist Kenneth Matthew and Joan’s companion, Brenda Booty. Also, long-time friends of the ministry, Brenda and Jeffrey Mallory graced the special occasion.
Murrell Ewing’s songs have a spiritual significance in the life of Pastor Apollo because during his first calling, when he heard the Almighty Father’s audible voice in South Korea during an International Youth Corps gathering in 1973, Murrell was singing the song “Take It All” at that time. Pastor Apollo remembers how the mighty presence of the Father was so strong that everyone in that grand ballroom was on his knees weeping and worshipping God. That was when he heard the words, “Gamiton ta ka” (I will use you) three times.
