Last March 11, 2022, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, once again, conducted a one-on-one sitdown interview with President Rodrigo Duterte at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ Compound in Davao City, Philippines.

Although President Duterte regularly visits the KJC Davao Headquarters, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy considers this particular visit as historical because this is where Duterte’s bid for the highest post in the land began.

Now that Duterte’s term is about to end in a few months, he addressed the nation from the same place where his journey as President of the Republic of the Philippines started.

The fight against extremism in Muslim Mindanao, AFP modernization, war on drugs, and the upcoming 2022 elections were among the relevant national issues discussed during the interview.

The President also urged the public to vote for highly qualified leaders and shared his insights on the ideal qualities that he wished to see on the country’s next Chief Executive.

Duterte mentioned three (3) qualities that the next President should have: (a) compassionate, (b) decisive, and (c) a good judge of character.

In a post-event interview conducted by Sonshine Media Network International, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy echoed these same characteristics, emphasizing that compassion equates to love for the people. He stressed that Duterte’s love for his country and the people was among the qualities that the Almighty Father saw in him and made him become the country’s President.

Pastor Apollo quoted John 15:13 that says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends,” and cited an incident when Duterte offered himself as a hostage in exchange for the freedom of a woman who was nursing her infant child. Duterte was the Mayor of Davao City when this happened.
